​On the opera stage, Greg has appeared as Giorgio Germont in La Traviata with the UK's Opera on Location, Morales in Carmen with Baltimore Concert Opera, and Silvio in Pagliacci with Utopia Unlimited Opera Company. Greg sang Masetto in Don Giovanni with Repertory Opera Theater of Washington, and reprised the role when The Figaro Project premiered the engaging whodunit​ "Who Killed Don Giovanni" to glowing reviews in Baltimore. Appearances with Opera Camerata of Washington have included Die Fledermaus as Frank the prison governor, and Il Barbiere di Siviglia where he covered the role of Figaro. He performed with New York Lyric Opera as Peter in Hansel and Gretel, and as Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, a role he also covered with The Martha Cardona Opera. Greg sang the roles of Roderick and Sam in Hindemith's The Long Christmas Dinner with enCanta Collective, where he also performed as Alfred in Britten's The Little Sweep, as the Wizard in Holst's The Perfect Fool, as Franz Josef in Kreisler's Lisa, and as Dr. Gregg in Moore's Gallantry.

Greg Hoyt is a versatile performer, with credits on opera and regional theater stages. Previously based in Germany, Greg appeared in Weimar as  Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, and as Papageno in Die Zauberflöte. His most recent musical theater work has included roles as Freddy in My Fair Lady, and Underling in The Drownsy Chaperone, with Sierra Reperatory Theatre.

Greg has appeared in young artist programs with the Sugar Creek Symphony & Song Festival, the Emerald City Opera Artist Institute, and the Atlantic Coast Opera Festival. Roles performed included Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, and Bob in The Old Maid & the ​​​Thief. Greg also sang in the mainstage chorus of the Sugar Creek Festival's Il barbiere ​di Siviglia and covered the mainstage role of Belcore with Emerald City Opera.

Greg has performed with the Maryland Conservatory Chorale as soloist in the Bach Magnificat with conductor Tom Hall, and as the baritone soloist in Rutter’s Mass of the Children for the Deer Creek Chorale’s benefit concert conducted by composer Z. Randall Stroope. He also served as baritone apprentice with the Berkshire Choral Festival in Canterbury, England under the direction of Brian Kay of BBC and King's Singers fame. 


Greg is currently living in New Mexico after relocating from Berlin, Germany where he studied with Jeanette Favaro-Reuter. Previously based in New York, Greg sang professionally with the Marble Collegiate Choir and studied with baritone Francis Keeping. He completed his Master of Music in Voice Performance at the Manhattan School of Music, studying with Mark Oswald. While at MSM, he was Performing Artist in Residence at Manhattan’s International House. Greg received his Bachelor of Music degree at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music where he studied with Timothy Noble and Marietta Simpson under a voice faculty scholarship.
